Part I highlights experiences from the use of three community engagement tools: community-led fisheries management and microfinance in Senegal and Cabo Verde (Chapter 1), stakeholder network mapping in Liberia and the Gambia (Chapter 2), and Fishery Performance Indicators (FPIs) work in Guinea Bissau and Guinea (Chapter 3). It is important to note that Chapter 1 reviews early community activities under WARFP that generated lessons learned and recommendations, which were then followed in subsequent engagements.
